Background Information from Eberhard Fuchs

I am head teacher of a school for children and youngsters with visual impairments in Wuerzburg. I have university degree in Special Education (Visually Impaired Children) and a degree in Orientation and Mobility. 

School Name: Graf zu Bentheim Schule

The school currently has 54 classes in 3 departments:
  1. Partially sighted children with normal intellect: 9 classes; 
  2. MDVI children: 6 preschool groups, 33 classes;
  3. Deafblind children: 7 classes.

The school has 79 teachers (trained in special education) which included teachers with a university degree and teachers with a "Fachhochschul" degree (one level lower than university) and 42 educators/assistants.

Founding Organisation: Blindeninstitutsstiftung

The organisation mentioned on the web site is VBS which is an organisation of professionals (teachers, educators, psychologists, social workers etc) working in the visual impairment field. 

This organisation is Europe wide for all German-speaking colleagues and has around 1,700 members from 11 different European countries. I am currently the president of this organisation and in this capacity a member of the "Real Dubliners" (i.e. founder member of MDVI Euronet).
